BILLIE BLOOMS

HOW WE BLOOM NO. 22

Libi MolnarComment

we are back! after a brief (okay, not so brief) hiatus, we are thrilled to announce that we will be bringing back our weekly outfit inspiration posts.

to kick things off, we bring you an outfit inspired by this lovely mild introduction to Fall here on the East Coast.  we start with our signature Alex gingham bloomers paired together with a classic grey henley top from the makers at Gray Label available for purchase here. down below we have Oeuf's adorable booties and to finish off the look, we've added a sweet bow from a new line we have recently discovered called Hadley Girl, started by a wonderful woman named Kelsey and named after her adorable daughter (and avid Billie Blooms supporter!) Hadley.

to tie the look together, we are including the one and only Sophie the Giraffe. perfect for your little ones when they are teething, a real tried and true staple of any little one's repertoire. that's it for now! let us know if there are any brands you think we should know about to include in upcoming posts. see you next week!

today is the first day of april and the sun is shining - so far so good!

for this week's roundup we are featuring our Dusty Liberty print bloomers together with this cutie top from the classic French label, Bonpoint. to tie the look together, we've added an adorable bonnet from our new friends over at Briar Handmade.

in honor of spring and easter and twinning in general, we've paired the look with this sweet bunny by Hazel Village so that your little one can match their little friend this easter or whenever they please! both our bloomers and this doll are available at one of our favorite online shops, Darling Clementine and happen to be this month's curated picks from the lovely Courtney Adamo of Babyccino Kids.

okay okay, so perhaps it is not QUITE spring weather here in new york. lucky for you all, we like to think of our bloomers as good in any season!

for this week's outfit inspiration, we feature our Dylan chambray bloomers paired with the Carol Ann bootie, handcrafted with love in Brooklyn by our good pal Laura (the creator behind Bu-Kin booties). in honor of the challenge to stay warm while the weather sorts itself out, we chose this lovely alpaca apple sweater from Oeuf, available here on sale!

last but certainly not least, complete the look with this sweet pull along wooden sheep from the makers at Bajo, available here to purchase.

for today's HWB post, we are introducing some new brands into the mix that have caught our eye recently. we love their use of color and hope you find them as inspiring as we do.

paired together with our Morgan polka dot flannel blooms is this amazing baja poncho from the lovely brand Ace & Jig who expanded their adult collection to include some kids items a couple of years back, there is one more of these left at one of our favorite online shops, Darling Clementine! complete the look with these lovely blush pink moccasins from our new pals at Amy & Ivor and your little one will be ready for any beach vacation and sunset watching. don't forget to include this amazing wooden camera from the makers at Twig creative so that they can "capture" all of their special vacation moments.

guys. spring has officially sprung! aside from the brutal feeling of waking up while it is still dark out, we are optimistic about the coming months.

today we bring you our spring inspired look, perfect for those long(er) days of long walks and wanting to be outside again.

this post features our Marlowe liberty print blooms paired with these ridiculously adorable Stan Smith sneakers from Adidas (so your little one can match mommy or daddy), topped off with a classic chambray shirt from the Gap. Now go grab a fresh juice from your local juice bar, our pick for this week is the new Mylk line of coconut milk drinks from our friends at Jugo Fresh, and head to the nearest swing-set you can find.

well enough is enough, we are officially tired of winter.

as spring is just around the corner (we hope!) this week we bring you a warmer weather inspired look. here we have our Stevie mini floral bloomers with the most classic spring tee we could think of, the iconic mariniere shirt from Petit Bateau. let those little toes out to breath some fresh air and get some much needed sun with these cute sandals from Salt Water Sandals.

finish the look off with this adorable shark rattle from the makers at Maileg. now go and play in the sun (or at least start fantasizing about warmer days to come!).

to begin, we are so excited about our latest collaboration with Liberty of London that we officially launched last night! the response has been so encouraging and we are really looking forward to seeing all of your little ones rocking their LIBERTY x BB blooms this coming spring and summer.

so... in honor one of our favorite babes and original Billie Blooms muse (who has his first birthday this weekend) we bring you this week's roundup. here we've paired our Dusty floral bloomers with this t-shirt from Nor-Folk as part of their recently launched "Wonder Years" collection. it really is the perfect top to announce to the world that you are a whole 1 year old!

tie it all together with these great stripey shoes from the makers at Mini Mocks in Sweden and you should be ready to party.

last but certainly not least, no birthday would be complete with one basic item, CAKE. here we included one of our favorite treats, a vanilla cupcake with lemon zesty frosting from Babycakes NYC (they deliver to outside of NYC as well, don't worry!) add a candle and you are good to go.

a big happy birthday to all the little one year olds out there, but especially to our buddy, Alex!

while the cold weather lingers on here on the east coast, we hope we can be your cozy consultant with this week's HWB post.

try pairing our Leo striped bloomers with this hand knit alpaca cardigan from the talented makers (and sisters!) at Turnip & Doe out in Portland. special thanks to STORQ for introducing them to us via their amazing newsletter (sign up to receive future newsletters here). finish the outfit off with these adorable leather booties from Zara, a great transition shoe from winter to spring.

once you have all of that done, gather on the couch with a great book like this one by Herve Tullet and spend some quality time together with your little one.

don't have anything special planned for this weekend (aside from seeing Fifty Shades of Grey with your best gal pals, of course) - find some inspiration in this week's HWB and set aside some time to bake tasty treats with your little one.

we start the look with our Dylan chambray bloomers and pair them with this incredible ensemble from Odette Williams. we really swoon at the thought of seeing all those littles baking away in their little aprons. finish it off with some luxurious moccasins from the makers at Amy & Ivor over in the UK because it is very important that your chef have comfortable footwear!

the look really goes best with a side of freshly baked chocolate chip cookies!

while we think that every day should be one filled with xoxo's and chocolate, here is an extra special Valentine's Day inspired HWB.

here we have our light pink oxford Lennox bloomers paired with this sweet tee from the adorable (and unisex as well!) Whistle & Flute shop. really any of their tees or sweatshirts would look great paired with any of our bloomers but we thought this one was just parfait for the day of l'amour.

from our favorite toy makers, Finkelsteins, we bring you this amazing love piglet with a heart + arrow tattoo. guarenteed to be the best valentine your little can receive this year.

hope everyone enjoyed a fun snow day with family and friends yesterday!

in honor of JUNO (the blizzard that wasn't very blizzardy, at least not in nyc) we bring you our sledding inspired look of the week. we've paired our Jourdan buffalo check flannel bloomers with this adorable graphic tee from Tiny Cottons and topped it all off with this amazing hat from Misha and Puff (inspired by a traditional chullo and hand knit in Peru!).

and since no snow day is complete without a great sled, check this one out from L.L.Bean. it is perfect for zipping down hills or taking a leisurely stroll through a winter wonderland.

this holiday season, we are drawing inspiration from the lovely Erin Boyle of Reading My Tea Leaves blog and focusing on the thoughtful four-gift technique of :

WANT, NEED, WEAR, READ

in honor of this strategy, we bring you this week's HWB no. 8!

what little one doesn't WANT an amazing feather crown from the makers over at A Tiny Arrow to feel like a princess (or prince!) of the day? regarding something they NEED, we love these adorable bibs from Oeuf. our Alex gingham bloomers make their return as something they WEAR and last but not least, this hilarious new children's book by B.J. Novak is a very special READ. even though the book contains no pictures, it does have plenty of silly words to read out loud, sure to engage and enlighten any audience!
